Cbeebies team looking for Sheffield students

The Cbeebies team are coming to Sheffield and need student volunteers from Sheffield Hallam to help stage and film the Cbeebies panto ‘A Christmas Carol’  at the the Crucible Theatre in November.

They are looking for local students to work with them to provide an outstanding, fun experience for the live audience and also support the BBC team during rehearsals and performances. This is a brilliant chance for students to work alongside a production team at BBC Children’s, get the inside track on how production teams create a show and learn about a live theatre performance.

The BBC are looking for friendly, confident people who have a professional attitude, bags of initiative and some previous events or theatre experience. An interest in children’s television production and some knowledge of  Cbeebies shows and presenters is also required.

Placements will be for three days: the dress rehearsal will take place on 7th November and the performance dates are 8th and 9th November. There will be two live shows on each of these days.

To be considered for this opportunity you need to do the following:

1. Tell Cbeebies about the key skills and experience that you can bring to the their Christmas Production team.  Please      make reference to any specific interests you may have e.g working with the art team or the camera crews (max 250 words)

2. If you had to cast 4 Cbeebies presenters for ‘A Christmas Carol’ who would you cast and what role would you put them in? (100 words max)

3. Send an up to date CV (2 pages max)

You need to submit your entry to Clare Proffitt clare.proffitt@bbc.co.uk by 10am on Wednesday 16th October 2013. Shortlisted students will then be invited to meet with someone from the Cbeebies production team before final selections are made.

So, if you think you have the skills needed to support one of the BBC’s busiest and best loved teams – Clare would love to hear from you.

                        Good Luck!
