Sheffield Hallam lecturers Carolyn Waudby and Dave Clarke have been talking to journalists and people who live in Paris in the aftermath of the terrorist attack and in the wake of a second shooting.
The journalism staff are on a short break in the French capital and have spent time in the Place de la Republique where people gathered last night.
Carolyn spoke to one woman who told her: “There are no words, my thoughts are with the families of the dead. What can we do?”
Dave said that this morning there were more journalists than local people in the heart of the city. Newspapers have been selling quickly and street kiosks were sold out by mid-morning.
“People seem very tense and upset, they’ve been hearing about another shooting although it’s quite a long way from here,” said Dave.
